World Alzheimer’s Day is a day to bring light to the stigmatization that surrounds dementia. As this topic remains a global problem, it requires greater global action. What Is World Alzheimer’s Month?
World Alzheimer’s Month is an international campaign by Alzheimer’s Disease International. Every September, this organization encourages groups to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia. World Alzheimer’s Day is the one day that recognized on September 21st.
Acknowledging the epidemic is critical. According to Alzheimer’s News Today, it’s not just Alzheimer’s disease but a related form of dementia that approximately 44 million people worldwide are living with. In the United States, there is an estimated 5.5 million people of all ages have Alzheimer’s disease.
