When did you start work at Nevada Adult Day Healthcare Centers:

I started working for Nevada Adult Day Healthcare Centers in 2005.

What do you like about the job and/or what’s your favorite part of the job?

I love interacting and working with the clients and volunteers. My favorite part of the job is implementing the restorative activity programs, which enhance the clients’ lives so they can reach their highest level of physical and psychosocial wellbeing.

Why is adult day care important?

When an adult loved one can no longer care for himself/herself, families can be forced to make difficult decisions. Adult day care is a great resource for caregivers to continue with their outside life and care for their loved ones. The socialization and activities provided can enhance self-esteem and promote wellness. Also, your elderly loved one will be well cared for during the day.

Anything you’d like to share? A story or something you’ve learned from your time here?

Love, dedication and hard work are the keys to success. Love what you are doing. Give it time; you develop full ideas, and then you hit a wall because you realize there is not enough time in the day to accomplish all you want to accomplish. The emotional and physical components can be overwhelming, as well as the paperwork. But it’s all worth it when you build those special relationships with the clients. In everything that we do, do it for the glory of God.
